You work in a Google Workspace shop - through and through. Even if you are dealing with the most hardcore-set of attachment-sending, version12a-keeping, Word-for-screenshot-slinging individualists, nobody gets around Gmail, Calendar and Chat. That makes people who use anything but the official too not enviable free thinkers, but uninformed victims of misconfiguration. Put more bluntly:
Your experience will suffer if you use anything else but the genuine tools.
Let's take a look at how the experience suffers - worst, it will often suffer in ways the person does not even know. As Gmail and Calendar's evolution runs rings around the competition, the products are diverging ever more and those users are left behind.
Historically, Gmail on iOS has not been able to add more non-Google accounts. Since everybody still had a secondary Notes email address, iOS users had it bad.
No longer! You can now add your private accounts from Yahoo, Hotmail and everything else. The secret is clicking your profile picture (it is a bit awkward). There you can set up as many accounts as you like. Once you do that, do yourself a favour and remove Apple Mail from your phone, otherwise it will keep synchronizing and eating battery as well as bandwidth.
